WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

There are so many books on equine anatomy and therapeutic approaches, what makes this publication stand out?

Nowadays the problem doesn’t lie in ‘finding’ information, but in where to find information that you can trust, use and easily learn from. It’s a rare combination. Yet here it is, brought to you by Master Equine Body Worker and Equinology CEO, Debranne Pattillo!

How is the anatomy presented in this book?

Leading medical illustrators specifically Laurie O’Keefe, Celia Strain (Equus Magazine Director) and Rachael Walker of Dragon Walker Studios combined their efforts to present fresh illustrations for you. Dr. Peter Flood, veterinarian and anatomy professor, spent several years working with Debranne to rewrite muscle location, function, innervation, structure and common issues presented with dysfunction.

What else does this text provide, and how does it support my learning process?

To truly enhance your relationship with horses in any capacity, you need a lot more than a big heart. You need knowledge. Because alongside knowledge comes the next level of care – the type of care that allows you to make informed decisions that are closer to those that horses would make for themselves. Now you can provide more comfort. More happiness. More ease. More freedom of movement. Improved health. This book has been given the thumbs-up by veterinarians and specialists devoted to care of the sport horse. They include Dr. Kerry Ridgway, Dr. Claudia Sonders, Manolo and Kate Mendez of Equestrian La Mancha, Australia, numerous successful equine body workers and therapists, and riders of various disciplines who all understand what it takes to keep an athlete going comfortably and, even more importantly, happy!

Congratulations Debranne on writing THE book on equine anatomy and bodywork. At seven hundred pages, this book is thorough, clearly written and beautifully illustrated and is bound to become an essential resource for equine wellness professionals, trainers and riders. This book shows the same standard of excellence we have seen in the Equinology courses and Painted Horse demonstrations we have hosted over the years and we have no doubt that is is going become a best seller. Finally, we are proud to have the handsome Clint Eastwood featured on the cover, you truly are an artist besides being a gifted teacher and equine anatomist.

Debranne has the mind of a researcher and an anatomist — this passion, combined with her years of experience and expertise in the field, makes the information she presents exceptionally accurate and insightful. Because of its hands-on practicality, and its in-depth look into the anatomy of the horse, this text operates on a much deeper level than much of the literature available on similar topics. Many books address anatomy, and many books discuss bodywork, but few combine both of these essentials at this level of expertise. Another unique element of this work is that it presents a synthesis of experience and knowledge from top practitioners in the field of equine wellness, making it a comprehensive resource, collecting the thinking and best practices of some of the best minds on the subject. Those of us who have followed Debranne’s work for years are anxiously awaiting the publication of this comprehensive discussion of the horse.
Sarah Miles, EEBW III

It’s a brilliant refreshment of the usual EEBW teaching tool. I truly loved all the new visual contributions: learning and reviewing will be easy and straight-forward for students, instructors and pros from now on! (I speak as a mixed visual/kinesthetic learner, but I think that the subject we teach will benefit so much from the actual layout of this Manual). I liked and found extra useful also the big amount of web references spread around the text – it’s very nice to provide students and readers with good and reliable online bibliography. Last but not the least I think that the chapter on the EBW Combinations is something that really completes the puzzle and fulfills the needs of students and experienced therapists in order to quickly and efficiently set up area-related and issue-related protocols.
